Terms of Service

Last updated: July 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Labmate, a research event scheduler for timepoint-based protocols ("Labmate," "we," "us," or "our"). Labmate is operated by an individual developer, Nick Pryde.

By creating an account or otherwise using Labmate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who Can Use Labmate

You must be at least 13 years old to use Labmate. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the research series, protocols, timepoints, presets, and other content you create in Labmate ("Your Content"). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide and operate Labmate, including syncing it to Google Calendar if you opt in.

You are solely responsible for Your Content, including its accuracy. Labmate is a scheduling and organizational tool — it is not a system of record for regulatory, clinical, or compliance purposes, and we make no representations about the suitability of Labmate for any specific research, regulatory, or compliance use. Verify important dates and data independently before relying on them.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Labmate for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Labmate, other accounts, or the systems or networks connected to Labmate.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Labmate, except where permitted by law.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of Labmate.
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make Labmate available to third parties without our consent.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Labmate if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

Google Calendar Integration

If you connect Google Calendar, you authorize Labmate to create and manage a dedicated "Labmate" calendar in your Google account, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect this integration at any time from within the app or from your Google Account permissions.

Fees

Labmate is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans or features in the future. If we do, we will provide notice before any charges apply to your account, and continued use of any paid features will be subject to additional terms presented at that time.

Service Availability

Labmate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. As a service operated by an individual developer, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not offer any uptime commitment or service-level agreement. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Labmate at any time, with or without notice.

Disclaimers

Labmate is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Labmate will be secure, accurate, complete, or free of errors or data loss.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Labmate and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of Labmate. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Labmate will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Labmate and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to Labmate at any time, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use Labmate will immediately cease, and we will handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Labmate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles, to the extent applicable to an individual operating this service.
